Program Overview

This course is designed to be engaging, informative, and interactive. You’ll collaborate on assessing an actual insurance claim, learning the part that each role – risk manager, underwriter, actuary and claims examiner – plays when a policyholder has a claim. You’ll also meet with, interview, and be mentored by insurance professionals as you learn more about writing cover letters, building resumes, and applying for jobs in the industry. You’ll also learn the ways your non-insurance jobs, such as auto repair or retail sales, can translate to the insurance industry.

This curriculum has been developed as part of the ALM Industry Literacy Program. To learn more about this community-focused educational initiative, contact us at InsuranceLit@alm.com
